Motul has launched a new lubricant range for car fans on the street and the track.

8100 Power has been formulated using the Ester Core technology used in the infamous 300V which works to both protect the engine parts with a thin oily film as well as maximizing power output and efficiency.

Motul’s 8100 Power range take inspiration from the world of motorsport and high-octane events but has tailored them to the API’s (American Petroleum Institute) technical standards. That means that with 8100 Power, you can stick to the regular service intervals recommended by the OEM for oil change with performance and powersport technology.

A major protection function from 8100 Power is the prevention of LSPI (Low Speed Pre-Ignition). Due to emissions standards, many OEMs are using smaller powertrains in their vehicles with a turbocharger. Although LSPI events may not cause an engine warning light, they can cause engine damage over time as fuel is combusting prematurely. LSPI also creates a lower power output so by preventing this, the engine health will be maintained as well as maximum power output.

The Ester Core Technology is used to improve the properties of existing base oil. These ester-based oils can take more abuse at higher temperatures. They will also provide a stable oil pressure whether the car is used on the road or on the track.

8100 will come in four viscosity grades: 0W-20, 5W-30, 5W-40, 5W-50. All come with LSPI protection and are fit for street and racing use.

8100 Power is perfect for daily use as well as for a track day.
